I’m a fitness obsessed gamer chick who happens to have spent the last decade, plus some, working in the video game industry, and the last 8 as a designer and producer. As for my specific work history and real life identity, I’ll leave that outta this blog because I occasionally like to (god damn mother fucking up the goat ass) swear and that might not jive with the spirit of my work. I do love working on games. In an average day, I get to scream into a microphone, get in the middle of people chasing each other around with nerf guns and hulk hands, write stories about trolls, and get a lot of use out of my talent for bad puns. There is a lot of making schedules, stress from bosses wanting perfection in an imperfect world, and repetitive stuff in there too, but at least I can show up to work in shorts and a t-shirt or pajamas or a prom dress if I want if I want!

Outside work – I spend at least 5-7 hours per week on athletic endeavors and the pursuit of fitness, specifically running, dance dance revolution on the hardest settings, yoga, weight training, rockclimbing (not outside), cycling, swimming, and skating. My latest passion is running races, I’ve done everything from 5ks, 5 miles, a 10k, half marathons, duathlons, metric century bike rides, sprint tris, an olympic tri, as well as some adventure races for fun! My goal for 2012 is 3 new distances: Metric Century on the bike (check), Half Ironman Triathlon, and a Marathon. Yes, they are worth of CAPS because they are awesome. Also, we will complete 24 races in 12 months – 2 per month.

I have lost pretty much a whole person since January 2007. You can check out my progress page if you are curious about my mass, that is, if I ever start updating it again. In case your wondering – eating take out and drinking lots of beer and liquor for the better part of a decade makes you fat, and fat is not fun. Oh, the process of getting fat is fun, but once you’re there, it’s teh suck. Fortunately, you can still drink beer and eat takeout and be skinny, you just have to do it less often. And in smaller quantities. And move your ass a little (lot) as well.

When I’m not ordering people around at work or doing laps around my neighborhood or shedding people, I enjoy spending time with Zliten, my husband and partner in crime. Who has also become quite the triathlon nerd! Score!

I also enjoy playing video games, cooking up new tasty and nutritious recipes, making beaded necklaces which one day I hope to sell on Etsy, writing novels I’ll likely not finish, shopping at thrift stores, watching DVD series of sci fi, anime, or anything by Aaron Sorkin, and drinking tasty beverages with my gaggle of geeky friends. I used to do some art and writing stuff which you can see at the main site, but it’s all well over 5 years old and getting pretty stinky by now. I pretty much draw stick figures and write really whiny and/or technical non-fiction type stuff instead.

Also, in spite of what your parents said, my face did not freeze like this. Make funny faces, laugh, love, and be silly. Life is too short not to act like you’re 10 years old when you can get away with it.
