{"id":4149,"date":"2014-02-19T18:50:48","date_gmt":"2014-02-20T00:50:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/adjustedreality.com\/blog\/?p=4149"},"modified":"2016-04-12T19:16:29","modified_gmt":"2016-04-13T01:16:29","slug":"you-know-youre-an-endurance-athlete-when","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/adjustedreality.com\/blog\/2014\/02\/19\/you-know-youre-an-endurance-athlete-when\/","title":{"rendered":"You Know You&#8217;re An Endurance Athlete When&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>1.\u00a0 You don&#8217;t drunk text, you drunk-sign-up-for-marathons.<\/p>\n<p>On Saturday night, I saw a facebook post that after being open only ONE day, the Space Coast Half Marathon was FULL.\u00a0 We were debating between the half and the full, but DEFINITELY wanted to run it, so that made the decision a bit easier and we signed up that minute without any hesitation.\u00a0 So, I guess I&#8217;m doing another marathon at the end of November!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/adjustedreality.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/feb19-2.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"feb19-2\" src=\"http:\/\/adjustedreality.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/feb19-2.jpg\" width=\"361\" height=\"361\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>2. The words come out of your mouth &#8211; &#8220;it&#8217;s like a day off, we&#8217;re only running 5 miles!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Monday was 2 hours, Tuesday was 2 hours, Wednesday and Thursday were over 3 hours, we had a 4+ hour workout on tap for Saturday, and we only had a quick lunch fiver that day.\u00a0 It&#8217;s all about perspective.<\/p>\n<p>3. Your workout laundry load is WAYYYY larger than your normal clothes.<\/p>\n<p>For a triathlete doing two-a-days or even three-a-days sometimes with wardrobe changes, it makes sense.\u00a0 I only wear ONE thing to work per day and one set of pajamas per week.<\/p>\n<p>4.\u00a0 You hem and haw over a 100$ shows, but have ZERO problems signing up for a 100$ race.<\/p>\n<p>I spent 100$ to sign up for 3M, and 115$ to sign up for Woodlands Half.\u00a0 I balked at some Alice and Chains tickets for 60 bucks.\u00a0 I cringed, but bought tickets for Wicked for 70$.\u00a0 It&#8217;s like, if I&#8217;m sitting it a seat, it&#8217;s worth WAY less than if I&#8217;m moving my seat.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/adjustedreality.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/feb7-plan6.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"feb7-plan6\" src=\"http:\/\/adjustedreality.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/feb7-plan6.jpg\" width=\"356\" height=\"355\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>5.
