Bikes await<\/p>\n
But the fog of sleep is cumbersome<\/p>\n
I must fight through the last vestiges of my dreams<\/p>\n
Slay one last reverie-beast<\/p>\n
Before I can join the waking world<\/p>\n
Life is a little more mundane for a moment<\/p>\n
The monotony of the morning routine<\/p>\n
I almost succumb to looking at others\u2019 journeys<\/p>\n
The siren song of Instagram<\/p>\n
Instead of setting forth on my own<\/p>\n
But bikes await<\/p>\n
My patient steed rests by the door<\/p>\n
So I break free of the gravity<\/p>\n
And escape the evil clutches of mediocrity and voyeurism<\/p>\n
Clad in spandex armor<\/p>\n
Stars and bolts hold magical powers<\/p>\n
My first thought as tires hit street<\/p>\n
Wind tendrils finding my hair<\/p>\n
Eyes finally alert in the fresh morning air<\/p>\n
Is that everyone should feel this alive<\/p>\n
Outside<\/p>\n
Legs pumping<\/p>\n
Breathing a little heavy<\/p>\n
Heart a little lighter<\/p>\n
Adventure calls<\/p>\n
And I have slain the slumber dragons<\/p>\n
To embark on its quest<\/p>\n
