{"id":999,"date":"2009-07-20T21:28:46","date_gmt":"2009-07-20T21:28:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/adjustedreality.com\/blog\/?p=999"},"modified":"2009-12-11T03:05:02","modified_gmt":"2009-12-11T03:05:02","slug":"the-new-plan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/adjustedreality.com\/blog\/2009\/07\/20\/the-new-plan\/","title":{"rendered":"The New Plan&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Thank you to everyone who commented (here or on spark) or sent me a message.\u00a0 I&#8217;m lucky to have such smart people who actually read this stuff!\u00a0 I got some amazing advice, so I wanted to make sure to share for those of you who don&#8217;t actually peruse every comment.\u00a0 First, a little Monday cuteness:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/icanhascheezburger.files.wordpress.com\/2009\/07\/funny-pictures-hamsters-have-cheerleading-practice.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Check <a href=\"http:\/\/www.feedmeimcranky.com\/?p=209\" target=\"_blank\">this out<\/a>, it seems like a very reasonable way to figure out how many calories to eat.\u00a0 This had me around 1679 calories per day to lose with an average of 419 per day burnt.\u00a0 So I went ahead and rounded up to 1700 and am rolling with that.\u00a0 It feels like too much, but I think it&#8217;s because I have been eating too little.\u00a0 Everything under the sun I&#8217;ve seen numberwise says I can eat just about 2000 and not work out and maintain, so I&#8217;ll trust it.\u00a0 Also, I&#8217;ve never eaten a constant calorie count per day so that will definitely be a shock to my body!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Alcohol is a sugar.\u00a0 Thanks Charlotte &#8211; this gave me one of those DUH moments!\u00a0 Of course it is.\u00a0 And I haven&#8217;t been treating it as such.\u00a0 As long as I had the calories for it, I didn&#8217;t care beyond that.\u00a0 I need to make sure at the very least that I do not eat sweet treats on the same day I have alcohol, and preferably, to limit it to a few times per week for either.\u00a0 When I drank a lot I never ate sweets, but now that it&#8217;s more occasional, I find myself wanting a somethin&#8217; somethin&#8217; after dinner.\u00a0 Now that I have more calories, it might not even be an issue, because I bet it&#8217;s not just something sweet &#8211; it&#8217;s that I was hungry and sweets were time appropriate.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Try the zone ratio of eating (40\/30\/30 &#8211; 40% carbs, 30% protein, 30% fat.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve been on this a few days and it&#8217;s HARD!\u00a0 I generally eat low fat without trying &#8211; more like a 55\/30\/15 ratio.\u00a0 Closest I&#8217;ve gotten is 44\/27\/29.\u00a0 What I&#8217;m doing for the most part is trying to eat what I normally do, but add calories via protien and fat via snacks.\u00a0 I have to say &#8211;
