First of all, let me say this.\u00a0 It’s not you.\u00a0 It’s me.<\/p>\n
I know, it’s a horrible line, but it’s just true in this case.\u00a0 Now, don’t start crying.\u00a0 Don’t look at me like that.\u00a0 I wish it didn’t have to be like this.<\/p>\n
We’re just growing apart.\u00a0 When I first started here, I found myself lost.\u00a0 Confused.\u00a0 In need of a creative outlet and feeling small, unimportant, and wanting to find my voice.\u00a0 We were like peas and carrots.\u00a0 You helped me get back into writing something more than whining drivel (debatable but I’ll count it, heh).\u00a0 You helped me meet some pretty killer people.\u00a0 We’ve had some really deep conversations.<\/p>\n
You are just really crowding me though.\u00a0 There’s the hour or two writing posts, then the time reading blogs, then the time thinking about what to write… I’m not saying I don’t love it, it’s just…<\/p>\n
It’s about that time in my life, that time of year, where I just can’t be that exclusive.\u00a0 I’m resenting the commitment.\u00a0 I just can’t devote that much time to you anymore.\u00a0 I’m sorry.\u00a0 Like I said, it’s nothing you did.\u00a0 You’ve\u00a0 been wonderful.\u00a0 It’s me.\u00a0 I’ve changed.\u00a0 I want to embrace the fact that I get into work, and most days, don’t come up for air until evening.\u00a0 I want to never eschew beautiful days to sit inside and write about my frustrations with weight loss.\u00a0 I just can’t do that with you.\u00a0 I know, you promised never to do it again.\u00a0 I just can’t trust myself around you.<\/p>\n
It’s not that I want to leave you.\u00a0 No way, baby.\u00a0 I just need some space.\u00a0 I’ll be around, I’d miss you too much to leave forever, but I just need some time.\u00a0 We can see each other occasionally, and continue the great conversations and deep thought, but for a while, I just can’t be tied down to 4-5 posts a week.<\/p>\n
Hopefully in time, things will work themselves out.\u00a0 But I just can’t promise that.\u00a0 Only time will tell.<\/p>\n
Can we get together and do our normal weekly update about weight loss and fitness pursuits tomorrow?\u00a0 Probably, but I just can’t be sure.\u00a0 Hopefully this time apart will really help us appreciate what we have here.\u00a0 Absence makes the heart grow fonder, they say.<\/p>\n
Stop looking at me like that.\u00a0 I have to leave now.\u00a0 I’ll be in touch.<\/p>\n
