{"id":2594,"date":"2011-07-18T02:52:42","date_gmt":"2011-07-18T02:52:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/adjustedreality.com\/blog\/?p=2594"},"modified":"2011-07-18T02:52:42","modified_gmt":"2011-07-18T02:52:42","slug":"observations-and-experiences","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/adjustedreality.com\/blog\/2011\/07\/18\/observations-and-experiences\/","title":{"rendered":"Observations and Experiences"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Mid-first week observations:<\/p>\n<p>-Holy cow, so much more energy with honeymilk pre and post workouts!\u00a0 I accidentally got the regular, not the light, but I halved my breakfast to compensate.\u00a0 Still felt WAY full.\u00a0 This is amazing.\u00a0 Workout fuel that isn&#8217;t breakfast &#8211; who knew?<\/p>\n<p>-Stevia drops are THA BOMB. Four in my yogurt and two in my La Croix (it made SODA!!!) this morning and I have no use for honey anymore.<\/p>\n<p>-Made my first protein smoothie ever on Saturday.\u00a0 1 scoop whey protein (vanilla), 3\/4 banana, 1 cup frozen cherries, 1 tbsp better &#8216;n pb (and ice and a little water).\u00a0 It took me an HOUR to down my concoction and I was so friggin full.\u00a0 These will probably make an appearance every once in a while.\u00a0 I DID miss the mastication &#8211; so it won&#8217;t be every day, but it was a nice change.<\/p>\n<p>-I like all my snacks, I&#8217;ve stuck to them for the most part (minus 5 chips one day, and a 1:30am drinking ramen slipup).\u00a0 I miss pretzels, but being able to have string cheese, almonds, or jerky any time I want is pretty sweet.<\/p>\n<p>-Interested in what will be on the lunch and dinner good list next week.\u00a0 If it&#8217;s just protein and veggies, I&#8217;m going to cry.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve been trying to think of carbs that are not grains and so far I&#8217;ve thought of potatoes, beans, and corn tortillas.\u00a0 I can probably get down with more of that action.\u00a0 We&#8217;ll see what happens.<\/p>\n<p>-Not necessarily related to food, but I&#8217;m actually really enjoying the 7am wakeups.\u00a0 Ok, not the actual wakeups (that sucks) but the rest of the day after.\u00a0 It&#8217;s nice to get the workouts done in the morning, and the earlier, the cooler it is.\u00a0 75 is much different than 82-85.\u00a0 I&#8217;m going to try to go for the same schedule next week (Mon: 45 mins bike hills and crunchtime &#8211; this will be my only PM, Tues: 7 miles AM, Wed: 45 mins full body weights, 30 mins swim, Thurs: off, Fri: 45 mins of sprints at the track, and Sat: 30 mile bike ride).<\/p>\n<p>Since I don&#8217;t have all that much to talk about right now, and this weekend was pretty much blissfully boring (read: relaxing), let me share some pictures of weekends past that I&#8217;ve been meaning to share.<\/p>\n<p>Keep Austin Weird 5k (6\/25):<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/a5.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net\/hphotos-ak-snc6\/268846_10150233377134450_789139449_7019211_5192286_n.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"239\" height=\"432\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Pretty sweet shirt&#8230; did the kids L trick, it&#8217;s a *wee* bit small.\u00a0 Hoping it&#8217;s comfy soon.\u00a0 Go go new nutrition plan!<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/a7.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net\/hphotos-ak-snc6\/267415_10150233392969450_789139449_7019470_6878163_n.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"242\" height=\"432\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We biked down (10 miles, added to the 10 miles that morning), and then walked around the festival.\u00a0 This puppy was definitely weird and awesome!<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/a2.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net\/hphotos-ak-snc6\/270971_10150285268107603_699762602_8997769_632622_n.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"432\" height=\"242\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This is about the weirdest we could get upon short notice.\u00a0 And getting there in 95 degree weather on a bike.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/a3.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net\/hphotos-ak-ash4\/263963_10150233393974450_789139449_7019498_4226805_n.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"242\" height=\"432\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Zliten is pretty weird to begin with, so he didn&#8217;t have far to go! \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/a8.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net\/hphotos-ak-snc6\/264855_10150233436339450_789139449_7019855_535360_n.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"242\" height=\"432\" \/><\/p>\n<p>About half a mile in, there was a wine stop.\u00a0 I got chardonnay.\u00a0 It seemed to pair well with walking on a 95 and humid day better than red.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/a5.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net\/hphotos-ak-snc6\/271002_10150233463489450_789139449_7020116_2201661_n.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"242\" height=\"432\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Then vodka and lemonade stop.\u00a0 Who needs sport-aid type stuff?\u00a0 There was also an ice cream stop, and a pizza stop, but they ran out of pizza by the time we got there.\u00a0 Bummer!\u00a0 We were pretty starving by then!<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/a3.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net\/hphotos-ak-snc6\/268583_10150233436779450_789139449_7019864_4315903_n.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"242\" height=\"432\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In just under 1 hour, we crossed the finish.\u00a0 I think we jogged about .05 of a mile just to do it and then stopped.\u00a0 SLOWEST 5k EVAR!!! \ud83d\ude42\u00a0 We then grabbed our bikes, left, tried to catch the bus (we do not yet have the proper night lights), bus didn&#8217;t come for over an hour, called a cab, bus FINALLY came but we were half a block down from the stop, cab never came, so we walked our bikes to a bar a few blocks away and grabbed dinner.\u00a0 We finally ended up calling a friend who went to our house, grabbed our bike rack, drove down, got us and our bikes, and brought us home around 2am.\u00a0 Sigh.\u00a0 Transportation fail, but a fun adventure!\u00a0 The only two bus fails we&#8217;ve had have both been at THAT corner, so I think next time we&#8217;ll just try to hop the bus elsewhere even if it&#8217;s a little further.\u00a0 Or&#8230; just get the night lights.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/a6.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net\/hphotos-ak-ash4\/265000_10150234167149450_789139449_7028664_7354327_n.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"288\" height=\"384\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The next day, after doing a small amount of work and recovering from a bit of a hangover, we headed to the Dell Diamond and took in a Round Rock Express game!\u00a0 Here&#8217;s me sporting the hat we got for a dollar last year from spinning the wheel 0 prizes.\u00a0 It was good fun, and lots of yummy munching on ballgame food (chili cheese fries and chicken strips were dinner, oops).\u00a0 The Express won 14-2, so it was honestly kind of a boring game, but it was good times anyway.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/a1.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net\/hphotos-ak-snc6\/264054_10150296676112603_699762602_9135155_705932_n.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"432\" height=\"242\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Fast forward two weekends, and we went to see <a href=\"http:\/\/www.judahfriedlander.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Judah Friedlander<\/a> (from 30 Rock) at Cap City.\u00a0 Man oh man, he was funny.\u00a0 I had no idea what to expect, I figured self depricating geek humor, but no&#8230;
